Got a few new additions today. Have pictures of some, but not all would cooperate. Got an A. Diversipes, C. cyaneopubescens, C. Darlingi, Euathlus sp. Red, B. smithi, G. Rosea RCF and 2 more G. Rosea (one was a pet store rescue). Here are a few pics... Euathlus sp. G. Rosea (RCF) G. Rosea This one was a pet store rescue. She (or he) was in a tank with such little substrate you could see the glass below her. Every time I went in there, she had at least 4 crickets jumping all over her. I felt sorry for her, so I took her home and named her Charity lol.

I recently landed a job at a pet store and I'm trying to break them of things like this. We have one G. rosea left in-store and it isn't even on any substrate, just that carpet stuff that you would use on snakes or some such. I think when I get a spare minute tomorrow I'm just going to go over there and change it out. The cricket thing seems to be how all stores operate. Just grab a handful and toss them in. That's something else I'm working on with them.

Ugh. I hate going to pet stores and seeing how poorly kept the Tarantulas are!

Sadly....my Euathlus sp. died already. I have no idea what happened to her. She was very active for a few hours, then nothing. I tried the ICU and it did nothing for her. Now, she is curled up, not moving. I only had her for a short time, but she will be missed.

Wow, not only did I miss this thread, but am taken aback by the sudden death.
The G. rosea is a G. rosea, it is just in need of a molt.
As for the Euathlus, do you have any more information to provide?!? I'm sorry for your loss!

Thank you. I really don't know any information I can give you. She seemed just fine after unpacking her, was active for several hours. Then I woke up the next morning and it was like the life just drained out of her. Her leg would twitch from time to time, but thats it.

Not to slander any seller, but how was she packed? Also did you have a last molt date?
I suspect shipping damage or a looming molt, both of which can kill quickly without further signs.

She was packed in a small deli cup, with moist paper towel. Just not as tight as the other Ts I have purchased. So I'm guessing thats probably what happened to her. This was written on the cup BSM '09 101. I'm not sure what that means though. I was not told a last molt date.

I would contact the dealer and tell them what happened. If they are fair they might send you another one. I think we've all had our share of spider mystery deaths.
