Well, first off, I haven't really been looking around this site for probably a couple years, a lot of things got really busy and I lost time for quite a few things.
My G. Rosea molted last night, but I wasn't aware she was in pre-molt as I seem to have trouble discerning because she usually keeps the hair on her butt. Ignorance at it's finest, I know. So I had made the horrible mistake of not removing a cricket she had failed to eat the previous day. I looked up in a break between computer games and realized that not all was well with her molting process, as there was a cricket on her, and had taken a bite out of her abdomen, causing her to gush (I know it's not technically called blood, but I forgot its name) blood, and I could visibly tell that the abdomen had gotten a little smaller. I quickly rushed to get rid of the cricket, and put some liquid bandage, as I believe I had read about somewhere here years ago, over the wound via Q-tip. I just wanted to thank everyone for the useful information that has been and continues to be shared, in the interest of T's everywhere!

This is why I repost the same thing over and over and over. I really do not want 9k posts, but if it saves one tarantula a month, I'll repost the same thing said a thousand ways. I'm glad you took the time to read the site, and paid attention to your animal!

Just like Christian said - that's why it's so important to share good information. It saved tarantula lives!

I am really glad you paid attention and were able to catch a threatening situation just in time.
Please keep us updated on the healing progress of your G. rosea.

One little hint ahead of time:
if the liquid bandage holds nicely, don't reapply. I don't know what it is, but when you reapply a second layer the first layer tends to peel off and cause new leakage. Been there and had to deal with that, so don't repeat my mistake ;)
Also, with a mended abdominal wound you might want to keep her on a stricter diet until the next molt.

Well done, and welcome back to the boards.

I will definitely keep updates going, if there are any changes. Right now she seems to be doing fine, she's moving around, (albeit still likes sitting around!) and the wound seems to have at least improved a little. Thanks for the tip on not reapplying, I will be avoiding that! Her diet will be cut back, and this time the crickets will be monitored a lot better than before! I would have taken pictures after she was (relatively) safe, but I misplaced my camera.. Will have to find that soon.

Also, I forgot to add- yes, Christian, the reposts may seem irritating to some, but I completely agree! It is something that everyone should know, because nobody should have to face a situation like that unprepared!
