Well winter is GONE, thank goodness. I was beginning to go crazy, as many of you may have noticed. ;)

This is my earliest record for surface activity in this part of Utah. Anuroctonus phaiodactylus. After covering quite a bit of ground, I was only able to spot around 20 scorpions. Their all slow (temps during activity have ranged from 68 F to 52 F), and covered in silt from digging themselves out of the still moist ground.

Only one species, but I'm ready to do some serious field work this year. I have a lot of ground to cover!

(I won't mention what hoppy little web foots I was photographing last week..)

Is there some weird web designs, i.e, webbing, in the tree?

Sometimes, we conentrate on the moment that we miss elsewhere while in the field with the other inverts.

I wish it was webbing! That's just the famous Lake Bonneville silt that was getting kicked around by the wind.

Good to hear from you guys!
