Along with Ishi, my new Grammostola rosea I have 5 Perisesarma bidens (red clawed crabs) & 2 Uca pugnax (fiddler crabs). Unlike the wealth of info I can find here & in great books like TKG, I have found virtually nothing regarding my crabbies anywhere I've looked, just a couple wak "care sheets" with conflicting information & tons of stuff on hermit crabs (which are completely different, both in care & scientific classification)... Does anyone know where I can get my read on & learn more about my little clawed friends? I know my chances are scarce, but a kid's gotta try, right? Thankee kindly!

Welcome to the ATS Discussion Board, firstly. As for care, I could check with Orin McMonigle via his business. I know he wrote at least one article on breeding Vampire Crabs.

Have you checked either the hermit crab forums or salt water aquarium forums? Both hobbies are much larger and will probably have far more experienced keepers with your species. Often tagging your species with the search term "breeding" will result in the best care information, even if you do not intend on breeding at all.

I will check out both, thankee. Not only do my lil' 8-legged homies deserve the best care I can give, but I'll enjoy the reading as well. Much appreciation for all you guys do! I'll drop you guys some nice pics as soon as I am able.
