 Post subject: Centipede

Hi guys

I am pretty new to these guys, and right now i have only 2, one is "0.1 malaysia cherry red" and i have opputunity to get a male home for her. I have seen the mother, and she is as big as a fullgrown s gigantea.

1. question is; anybody have some advice/links on breeding them?

2. question is ID; Can anybody ID this centipede(dont know the sex);

Breeding centipedes is a brave new world, not many folks have done it, but good luck!

As to ID, if you were in the US I'd guess Scolopendra polymorpha, but I don't know if that species would turn up in the European trade much. However, there is a north African/southern European species named Scolopendra cingulata that looks something like that.

That's just a guess though!

I think after more research, that it is more likely scolopendra valida because of the 2 thick legs(tale).

How large is this species? I don't think I've ever seen it in the US trade.

I think they become quite large. But i cant find much info on this species, and no one in europe are selling them atm.
