Hi all,

My A. Gigas (who normally is very happy underground) has spent about a week straight on the surface and has some frightening symptoms. Her exoskeletion appears dimpled in many spots and she has a strange spot where her exoskeleton seems damaged and theres white specks mixed with something that has the appearance of the soil but it embedded into her exoskeleton. I'll try to get a pic up soon, thanks.

Hmmm....may be the results of a bad molt, or substrate gone foul. I'd try fresh substrate. If there's a chance she may have laid fertile eggs in there, I'd keep the substrate in a bucket for a few weeks and check it for signs of babies just in case.

Good luck!!
