Hi,
They are a subspecies of Lq obviously.Yes they are a bit more rare. The main difference is probably location. Also the Lqh is a bit darker on the back. IMO a better looking scorp

yes they are pretty nice looking from what i've seen, also i've heard that lqh have more potent venom than the lqq, is this true? also what do you think would be a fair price to ask for a lqh at second instar ?

I havent heard of a venom difference, but I dont doubt it. Locale makes a difference in a few other scorpions, dont see why it would differ with Lq...
Id say $20 for a Lq at 2nd instar is pretty fair.

I doubt that even if there is any difference in the venom it wouldnt be much. Both pack a serious wallop

I worked quite a bit with L. quinquestriatus. While I did see two morphs, I'm not a taxonomy expert and therefore couldn't tell you which one is which. Anyway, the desert morph was much larger in body size and it's color was more light yellow, while the other morph, which I found in a more mesic environment was smaller and darker in color (orange-brownish).
Don't know anything about differences in venom, but being from two distinct types of habitats I bet there are differences in their desiccation resistance (though both would probably be highly resistant to water loss).
