Anybody by chance in south-eastern NC or north-eastern SC? (or anywhere in the surrounding area?) Looks like most everybody is out west or up north...

We need an arachnid/reptile society in NC. As far as I know there is nothing in Charlotte. Could be wrong.

It would be nice to have a NC Society. I am actually in Concord, but work in Charlotte.

If anyone hasn't seen, check out the summer spider program thread under the General. There is a librarian in Buncombe County, NC (Asheville area), who would like someone to do a Tarantula/Spider presentation for kids during summer 2008.

Hi all -
I live in Virginia, but come to NC almost every weekend and plan on moving back to NC within the next 2 years. I think a NCTS would be FANTASTIC! Also, there is a reptile/exotic pet expo held the first weekend of May every year in Raleigh. I've purchased a few T's from this event the past 2 years.

Perhaps this is something we should look into organizing . . . ? Who's interested?

I would certainly meet up with people, but I don't have the time to organize anything.
Is anyone breeding in the area?

Not sure if any one in the area is breeding. I thought I maybe saw "Forensics" was breeding, but I do not remember. I think it would be cool to have an NC get together. I also do not have the time to arrange one though.

Hi,
I live in Durham. I have 5 T's. I would like to meet some of you here in NC.
I work for the NCWRC and do not have the time to organize anything.

I live in Yadinville and that is about an hour north of Charlotte. I would be interested in meeting somewhere. I don't own any T's at this moment but in the process of ordering some. The biggest show that you can buy T's at is at the repticon in Columbia, SC. They hold this event twice a year. I can not speak of the show down in Raleigh. They also have some really big shows in Va but I dont know when they have them. I know a few people I could find out if any one is interested. Any ways I will just keep an eye on this thread.

from the looks of everything I have seen, Greensboro or Charlotte looks pretty centralized. We appear to span from Yadkinville to the coast. Just a couple of suggestions.

I am good for Greensboro or Charlotte. Raleigh is going to be a bit far unless I can get the family to make a trip out of it.

I do a little breeding. I would be more knowledgeable in the enclosure area. With NC being so large it's going to take some traveling, some a lot more than others. Greensboro would be easy for me to make. I'm about 2 hours from Greensboro; 3 from Charlotte. I'm a little east of Raleigh. I'm not saying I want to be the first, but I would be willing to host some time.
